Technical challenges (running on different providers (we need an overlay!!)) as well as social challenges (why are we famous in Peru?) during COVID-19 when running an opensource conference system.

The systems is based on Jitsi and run bei Freifunk Munich in Germany.

This presentation will look into the gNMI protocol as it is becoming increasingly popular in managing network infrastructure. It will start with an overview and a high-level comparison with other interface methods before diving into some of the latest developments in the gNXI ecosystem. The session will then point out the advantages, its sweet spot for utilization and highlight the growing ecosystem around gNMI. Finally we will reflect on its growing uptake in the market. and do a poll across the audience.

This is an IGP network topology acquisition and capacity planning tool build on opensource software.

• Automatically generated network maps ( integration with d3js.org )
• Ability to create network maps for external connection

LNETD-QT

• Network planning for node/link failure
• What if scenarios for adding new links/nodes , changing links metric.
• L1 Topology model and the effect on L3 links.
• Manually or Netflow traffic demands (integration with http://pmacct.net )

16:05 → 16:25 Processing BGP updates with RabbitMQ - more in depth

At UKNOF#45 I did a talk about processign BGP updates with RabbitMQ.
I like to present a talk that takes this presentation as basis and is going deeper into alerting based on the events from BGP updates, which we use for alerting on specific events.
With our real life examples, you can imagine how to build events on BGP hijacking or cofniguration mistakes at your customers side.

Components in this system are:
* Juniper core routers for BGP full table
* ExaBGP for receiving updates from the core
* Python scripts to feed to RabbitMQ
* RabbitMQ messaging system
* Python scripts to take actions based on the RabbitMQ messages
* alerting by e-mail and instant messaging

As Moore's Law continues to prove itself as it has done for the past 50+ years, ethernet speeds need to keep up with the latest merchant silicon switch/router chips. The latest chips not only provide higher performance and faster interface speeds, but also reduced power consumption, larger table sizes, more buffers, etc. This presentation will briefly discuss where the industry is heading and how the landscape will appear with regards to 400GbE and beyond.
